Whether you’re a natural wordsmith or not, having a passion for your subject is the vital ingredient to crafting an engaging blog post that people will want to read. Blogs can offer users information and at the same time include keywords and links back to your site that will be picked up by search engines like Google, making your site easier to find. News releases

In a similar way to blogging, news releases provide an opportunity to distribute a story which will reach online players. The keywords and links in the release raise your visibility and help drive traffic. There does need to be something relatively newsworthy or ‘new’ about your story though. And correct grammar and writing style is more important in this format. Free release sites (e.g. www.widespreadpr.com, www.free-press-release.com ) do not guarantee that they will publish your news, but it helps if you submit early in the day.

Answering questions in forums (subject to their rules)

Being visible within online forums is a good way of gaining free publicity without advertising. So your input needs to be useful in response to the posts on the forum and what they are saying or asking. No overt advertising should be done in this space, but your sign off name can usually include your website name.

Link exchanges
Find link exchanges that are relevant to your site. E.g. search Google with ‘link exchanges’ and then add ‘poker’ or ‘rakeback’ to the search. By swapping or trading links with other sites you can help boost your search engine ranking and aid your visibility. You can edit the footer links on your webpage. Our user guide tells you how.

Video clips

If you’ve got some footage of live poker in action, or a funny out-take, then post it to sharing sites such as YouTube and include keyword links to help people find your site.

Social media
Set up a fan page from your facebook profile, create a Twitter account to post updates. Keep your players informed and attract new ones by letting them know what’s going on in the world of poker and rakeback. But don’t advertise to them in the traditional sense!

Refer-a-friend
Incentivise your players to refer friends to your site. They’ll get 4% commission for their efforts. You’ll benefit from 1% from these sub referrals; players (and cash) that you wouldn’t otherwise have had. SPECIAL PROMOTION for you to offer your players in November and December 2009! When you make referrals during this period you will also receive $10 per player ON TOP of the standard commission tiers (players must be real money players and rake a minimum of $10 in that period).
