Walker Strolls to PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Title

Gareth Walker has won the PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham title that he came so close to clinching last year when he final tabled the event. The 2011 was the largest UK poker tournament with 1,058 players who contributed to Walker’s £109,000 first prize. Whilst Nottingham’s finest Sam Trickett was Final tabling the WPT Paris it was left to Newcastle boy Gareth Walker to win the PokerStars UKIPT title. UKIPT Nottingham held at the fantastic Dusk Til Dawn poker club on the outskirts of the city near such wonderful night time experiences as Isis and more has featured some huge events and is the largest poker card room in Europe. It needed this size to cater for the huge numbers that turned up looking to walk away with this prestigious title.

The 1,058 players that did turn up broke the record for the most players in a tournament on UK soil and ensured the total prize pool was over £500,000.
