The idea of a reality TV program based on poker players has been tried a couple of times but with no real success. With 2010 being the year of creating new reality TV Stars such as those from “The Jersey Shore” and UK’s own “The Only Way Is Essex” perhaps the new project called “Young Guns” will be the winning formula.
The reality show “Young Guns,” will follow the lives of four online poker pros in Los Angeles, none of which are household names – at least yet. The four are Chris Sparks and Chris Jackson (both 23 years old), Jarran Joshu (24) and Seth Otterstad (27). Sparks is probably the best known of the four.
The show would just provide a snapshot into their lives as poker pros. In addition, the players would primarily focus on tournament play, rather than cash games.
While no network has yet committed to airing the series, the attention received by Young Guns so far makes it likely that it will be picked up somewhere, meaning there will probably be yet more poker programming on your television this coming year.
