Other than the obvious big poker events each year – the World Series of Poker, European Poker Tour and the World Poker Tour – the France Poker Tour is set to be one of the biggest poker events this year. 2009 will be the fifth edition of the prestigious event with the first stage of the event will be taking place on August the 29th to the 30th.
1,500 players will all be playing poker in the same room during this Parisian stage with 12 professional poker players present amongst them. The 30 best players will qualify for the final which will be held in Paris on January the 2nd to the 10th 2010.
Antoine Dorin, the president of the French Federation of Players of Poker, has said that a €500,000 prizepool will be distributed during this €1,000 buy-in tournaments, making this event a great opportunity for some of the best players around to win some big money.
After the first stage in Paris next month, there will be 12 other stafes taking place around the Hexagon with Lille and Lyon hosting the tournament from September the 16th to the 27th. 500 poker players are expected to attend each event. The winner of the France Poker Tour finale will succeed Nicolas Ferrier and win the title of Campion of France 2009.
